WHAT IS IT?

It allows citizens the right to petition their government to redress grievances, through proposing their own laws, or to repeal unpopular laws through a formal petition (signature-gathering) process. In a 1996 non-binding referendum, R.L citizens voted for Voter Initiative. The legislature has since refused efforts to place the matter on a ballot for citizen approval

The Rhode Island legislators too often serves their interests & those of their special interest cronies before considering yours. How long can we continue to pay higher taxes, support incomprehensible budgets, and neglect needed reforms, while our quality of life crumbles before us.

WHO WILL OPPOSE IT!

Opponents will be those entrenched in the State House, the special interests, and others who have their ear. They will say anything, promise anything, and do anything to keep you out of the process.
